Dancing At Your School
Dancing serves as a wonderful outlet for children and young people to learn about themselves and encounter valuable life experiences in a safe and fun environment. Each dance has basic figures that are easy to learn, and our program is organized in an appropriate manner per age group. Studio 665 can work with you to help your school start dancing!
Studio 665 has or currently provides dance instuction to:
- Tufts University Ballroom Dance Team
- Middlesex Community College Ballroom Dance Team
- Jewish Community Center of Marblehead
- North Shore Performing Arts Center of Rowley
Benefits from school dance programs include:
- Development of teamwork and social skills
Leading and following skills are equally challenging. Each member of the pair must learn to support the other and make the dance work.
- Gaining respect for self & others
Respect on the part of each student for his or her role in the dance, respect for the partner's effort and needs, and respect for the dances themselves are experienced and encountered.
Self-esteem is gained when students become more comfortable with the dance and their partnership.
- Development of Coordination
Dancing with a partner develops a student's coordination on several levels: musically, physically, and mentally.
- Cultural Appreciation
The latin rhythms of Salsa, Samba, Cha-Cha or Merengue, or the smooth and beautiful sounds of Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango, opens the door to new worlds that may not be yet be discovered.
- Discovery of A Talent
For a child who has a talent for dance, your school's dance program could provide the only affordable way for that young person to discover this talent and receive focused mentoring and positive role modeling from our instructors. Great possibilities arise when there is an opportunity to discover.
