Student results from the Commonwealth Classic
Woburn, MA -- November 10, 2005 -- Well, it just stands to reason that the oldest and most prestigious studio in New England should walk away with top honors at the oldest and most prestigious competition in New England – the Commonwealth Classic! Of course, we’re talking about Studio 665, the ballroom and performing arts dance studio that just turned 21 this year. So how did we celebrate this milestone? How about winning Top Studio and Top Teacher, for the second year in a row! Not only did we have the most entries of any studio there, but we also had the most winning students – earning Mark Nocera the honor of being named both Top Standard Teacher and Top Latin Teacher.
In fact, it seemed that it was a special year for the Commonwealth Classic as a whole. The number of entries was up this year, and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. Must have been all the new blood among the contestants – over a third of our students at the competition were first-time competitors. Our 39 competitive students covered the spectrum, from 14 newcomers to 10 scholarship and 6 superbowl entries. And wouldn’t you know that we had a winner in every superbowl category, from standard to rhythm and smooth? Guess all those years of experience pay off where it counts!
Congratulations to all our students who competed at Commonwealth Classic, held at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA.
