Ballroom Dance Studio Invited to Perform at Boston's Official Tree Lighting

Needham, MA -- November 11, 2007 -- The unique tradition of lighting Boston's official Christmas tree began in 1940. This year, on November 29th at 6:00PM, Studio 665 of Needham and Woburn will be providing exciting dance performances. The dancers of Studio 665 were invited by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department to be part of the annual festivities in which Mayor Menino will flip the switch to light the Common, the Public Garden Bridge, and Commonwealth Avenue Mall during a holiday sing-along. Says Mark Nocera, owner of Studio 665, "We are so excited that the City of Boston asked us to perform at the official Tree Lighting. We are honored to be asked and we are looking forward to a great evening of dancing and entertainment in the City of Boston." Each year, thousands of people of all ages enjoy the stage show and other entertainment that includes carolers and a visit by Santa. The official Tree Lighting is sponsored by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia, WCVB-TV Channel 5, and radio station Magic 106.7 FM.
